🌱 Laura’s Garden — Spring Rebuild (HRP-2026-021-WP)
April 18, 2026 — Full spring reset initiated on the 50×50 enclosed high-fertility zone at Haystead Ranch. Operations include removal and decommissioning of aging shelters and tractors, perimeter fence and gate repairs, and complete mowing/clearing to restore full working capacity. Following site prep, Dr. Laura began the soil-conditioning program with broadcast seeding of winter rye and white clover to enhance soil structure, nitrogen fixation, moisture retention, and erosion control.
This phase transitions Laura’s Garden into a dual-purpose system—serving both as an active grow space and a secure, nutrient-rich brooder zone for incoming chicks and juvenile turkeys expected late April through early May. Ongoing monitoring will focus on germination success, ground cover establishment, and enclosure integrity to ensure optimal readiness for livestock integration and continued regenerative use.
