HAG-02 Viking Herb Garden Restoration
Agricultural Renewal Initiative — Field Activation Weekend
This weekend at Haystead Research Ranch, we officially activate HAG-02 — Viking Herb Garden Restoration & Growing Season Preparation, continuing our Agricultural Renewal Initiative and seasonal readiness operations.
Over the course of March 7th and 8th, David, Dr. Laura, and Scout will be onsite restoring, expanding, and preparing the Viking Herb Garden for the 2026 growing season. This work blends historical agricultural principles with modern soil science and environmental monitoring — a hallmark of Haystead field operations.
🔬 Mission Objectives for the Weekend
Soil assessment and organic amendment integration
Raised bed restoration and structural reinforcement
Cold-tolerant herb planting and early-season starts
Irrigation system inspection and calibration
Data logging of soil temperature, moisture, and atmospheric conditions
Integration with Haystead Environmental Intelligence Center monitoring
🌱 Why It Matters
The Viking Herb Garden is more than a planting space — it’s a living research platform. By combining regenerative soil practices with real-time environmental monitoring, we continue building resilient food systems adapted to local climate realities.
This weekend marks the transition from winter dormancy to active cultivation. Data collected during this activation phase will inform seasonal forecasting models and guide planting strategy throughout spring.
🐾 Field Notes
Scout will, of course, be supervising perimeter security and morale operations.
